Paul T Erickson Jr.

Paul attended Albany State Teachers College, where his studies included advanced language and learning mathematics. He had a lifelong interest in education, learning, and the world around him.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he studied Russian and was stationed in Germany, where he served with the Army Security Agency in intercept operations for three years.

Paul met his wife, Linda, in Kenya, and the two were married in Reno, Nevada, on November 3, 1974. They shared 50 years of marriage before Linda's death in 2024.

Education was at the heart of Paul's professional life. He taught in Mombasa, Kenya, as well as in schools in New York and Oregon. Over the course of his career, he served as a teacher, vice principal, principal, and advocate for education. His commitment to his community also included involvement with the Washington County Oregon Democratic Party. From 1981 to 1984, he was part of the "Menstersingers."

Outside of his professional and community life, Paul enjoyed photography, outdoor activities and challenges, and traveling whenever he could. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children. College football was another favorite, but family remained most important to him.

Paul was known by everyone for his sense of humor. He valued acceptance and looking toward the future, and he cared deeply about making people smile and laugh. His life reflected a dedication to serving, learning, people, and community.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Patton Erickson. He is survived by his children, Mark (Michele) Erickson, Christina (Rich) Donoho, and Stefanie (Gerald) Nebert; his sister, Mary Alice Morris; and his grandchildren, Rachel, Phillip, Arden, Mia, Camille, Melanie, and Maurice.

Paul will be remembered for his genuine love of people, his devotion to his family, his curiosity and dedication to learning, and the laughter he brought to those around him.
