

Peter was born in Portland, Oregon, to parents Edward and Carol (Kernahan) Devecka on November 28th, 1957. He had three siblings, a brother Michael; and two sisters, Adrienne and Lauren. Peter was raised in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Wilson High School. He attended PCC and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Portland State University. His first business venture was his own business, Capital Gutter. He later started his own real estate business. He was a home builder and property developer. He was also was an enthusiastic stock market day trader.
He married Susan Veilleux in Portland, Oregon in 1990. They separated in 2002, but they remained close friends.
In addition to day trading, his hobbies included playing drums and Peter was an accomplished drummer. He was also very interested in high performance sports cars, especially Porsche. His fantasy, even as a very young boy, was to be a Formula One race car driver. A favorite destination for travel was the beaches of Santa Barbara, California. He was a loving son and brother, loyal friend, and will be dearly missed.
Peter is predeceased by his parents Edward and Carol Devecka. Survivors include his brother Michael Devecka (wife Carolyn) of Montclair, NJ; sisters, Lauren Devecka (husband, John DaSilva) of Astoria, NY and Adrienne Devecka (husband Chris Palaske) of Portland, Oregon. Peter is also survived by his former wife, Susan Veilleux of Lafayette, Louisiana; and special friends, Nelda Lindell, Lisa and Jerry Mills, and Ann and Luke Miller.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Providence Cancer Institute.
