Born Priscilla Ann Cline to parents Esther and Thomas Cline on October 30, 1923; Priscilla was a true Portlander and was born and raised in the Portland area. She was the second youngest of 10 children and was close to her brothers and sisters as they grew up. She went to Beaumont Elementary School and Grant High School where she graduated from in 1941.
1942 she married Melvin Scharringhausen and together they raised their family in NE Portland. They had four children; Gil, Chris, Hank and David. Priscilla was a hands on mother and could often be found teaching her children how to play baseball or engaged in other activities with her children. She was fiercely loyal to her family and always put them first. Her occupation in life was a homemaker and she took this job very seriously. She was dedicated to make sure that everyone was fed, to engagements on time, clean and well cared for. Family was her number one priority.
Faith was an important element of life and she was active and passionate about her involvement with the church. At the time of her passing she was a dedicated member to the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church of Portland.
Priscilla had a great love of her family and prided herself in the family get together she would host around the holidays. She would do all the cleaning and all the cooking and during Christmas time everyone who attended her home received a special handpicked gift. She was nurturer; not in grand sweeping manners, but she let you know she cared in her own small and special ways.
Priscilla is predeceased by her husband, Melvin; her parents and eight siblings. She is survived by her children; Gil and wife Sandy, Chris and husband Jerry, Hank and wife Cathy, David and wife Diane, 7 beloved grandchildren, 13 cherished great grandchildren and her dear younger brother Pat.
It was never Priscilla’s desire to be the center of attention. In accordance of Priscilla’s wishes there are no services to be held.
