He served his country during WWII as Seaman First Class on the USS Whitehurst.
He had worked as a welder, mostly in the trucking industry and then in the 1960's for Lockhheed, helping to build the SR-71 spy plane.
His daughter Raylene and nephews Stan and David preceded him in death; he is survived by his wife Barbara, son Bruce, step daughter Barbara Dale, daughter-in-law Maria, grandchildren Laurie, Aaron and Malia and great-grandchildren Peyton and Mili.
Ray's hobby was woodworking but he loved writing poetry. So, dad, this little one's for you:
Fighting sailor, wonderful dad,
Loving husband, never a cad.
Ray Plumb has passed away
but his spirit will always stay.
