Richard Donald Curtis, 81, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on April 29, 2026. Born on January 23, 1945, Richard will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
Richard’s life reflected steadfast devotion and a quiet strength that met each season with courage. He earned his bachelor’s degree and, later in life, pursued work as a real estate appraiser—an honest vocation well suited to his straightforward character and careful sense of responsibility.
Richard also spent time in the Army, serving as a combat military pilot in Vietnam. In that role, he demonstrated remarkable bravery under pressure, evaded capture, and helped rescue numerous people—actions that spoke not only to his skill, but to a compassionate instinct to protect others when it mattered most.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Curtis, and his devotion to family remained an enduring part of his story. Richard’s kind-hearted presence and steady integrity will be deeply missed and gratefully remembered.
