He graduated from David Douglas High School, and spent one year at Portland State University. He later joined the Oregon National Guard. Dick married his beloved wife, LaNell on November 4, 1967. Their son, Anthony Scott Kinville was born March 22, 1970.
Dick’s career was spent working as a draftsman at Beall Pipe & Tank and as an Ironworker with Ironworkers Local 29, until he retired September 1, 2000. Dick was a member of American Legion Post 180.
In his free time, he enjoyed skiing, golf, going on Cruises with his wife and friends, travel, as well as riding dirt bikes. This was a pastime he shared with his son and the two had many bonding experiences on their bikes!
He is survived by his wife, LaNell Kinville of Oregon City; his son, Tony Kinville of Milwaukie; and his brothers Robert Kinville of Sitka, Alaska and Paul Kinville of Portland.
Dick’s beautiful spirit will be remembered and missed by the many he touched throughout his life. He was a kind, caring, and gentle man; an amazing husband, father and a loyal and dependable friend.
As we bid farewell to a soul taken too soon, we take solace in the memories that remain, the paths he blazed, and the horizons he chased. Ride on, Dick, towards your next great adventure.
