Richard Lee Koontz was born on November 28 1948 in Portland Oregon. His Parents, Harold J Koontz, who was an Army Captain in WWII and Korea and then Shariff for Multnomah County and Lenore I Koontz, who was a mill worker and homemaker raised Richard and His older bother Jack all over the Portland Metro Area throughout the 50s and 60s. He Graduated from Clackamas High School in 1967 where he played football and was a drummer in the drumline band. At age 20 he was drafted into the Vietnam war spending 2 years in the Navy where he was stationed in Japan and The Phillipines aboard the USS Waddell. He worked as a truck driver throughout the 1970s leading to a supervisor position with Galvanizers Co in Portland, where he worked until retiring in 2011. He married the love of his life Carol L Kadrmas on August 17 1985 and had two kids Ashley and Ross in 1986 and 1990. Richard was a kind and generous man who enjoyed sports, music, westerns, animals, cars, gardening, and spending time with his family. He is proceeded in death by his parents Harold and Lenore and his wife Carol.
