Richard J. Leuthner Owens

His daughter Roberta Aksamit predeceased him. Richard is survived by his son Richard W. and his wife Susan Owens.

Grandchildren are Theresa Spanner, Ed Owens, Kristy Salinas, Tim Owens, LaDonna Mason and Naomi Sundberg.

He is survived by 7 great-grandchildren, Amber Pidcock, Evan Spanner, Blake Spanner, Kayla Owens, Blaine Owens, Milijah Jackson, Alonso Rodriguez, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Mikah Owens; and one great-great grandchild, Tanner Pidcock.

Richard served in the US Army in World War 2 where he met his wife Alice, who passed in 2010. He worked in the grocery business most of his life and retired at age 62. Richard and Alice had 3 children. They loved traveling in their motorhome and went 3 times around the United States. Richard loved to bowl and he bowled up until April 2015. He loved to put puzzles together and he made frames for almost every puzzle he completed - he had over 50 hanging in his house and garage! His love for his garden and yard was noticed by all especially his neighbors, as he worked in his garden almost every day.

He will be truly missed by his friends and family. Rest in Peace dad, grandfather, and friend!

A memorial service will be held in Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR, on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 2pm.
