On the evening of Friday, June 14, the world lost the perfect and most humble gentleman, Richard Reiser, Jr. the age of 63. Richard was born on December 29, 1949 to Dick and Marie Reiser of Roseburg and went to Sunset High School. Later he received his undergraduate degrees in both Computer Science and Philosophy from Portland State University. For over a decade, he enjoyed working for Rentrak as a computer software programmer. He was a lover of nature, history, politics, and novels.
Richard leaves behind his son, Brian Reiser, who served in Iraq and resides in Portland; his brother, David Reiser; sisters, Elaine Little, Clover Daley, and other loved family and friends. But his most treasured moments in life comprise sharing the majority of his time beside his long-term girlfriend, Yuni Charr. Together they traveled, embarked on road-trip adventures, spent days walking the beaches of the Oregon Coast, gardening, reading to one another and most poetically, growing older and wiser with one another. They were best friends, making each other stronger by simply being together.
Richard was a man of integrity, honor, and compassion. It was with a tender heart that he touched the lives of those around him, family and friends. He is no longer in pain and finally at peace; mind, body, and soul.
A celebration of Richard's life will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2013, at 1pm. He will be laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens, Garden of the Old Rugged Cross. Please visit the guestbook portion of this site and enter a special memory or message.
