Richard was a devoted husband and father.
After graduating from Jefferson High School in Portland in 1943, Richard was a Torpedoman Second Class and Petty Officer on the U.S.S. Tripoli in WWII. He married Sherlie Graevell on October 24th, 1948. He was a Chevy auto mechanic for 35 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sherlie; brother Clark; daughter Kathy Glankler; son Ron and wife Sharon; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Frank Glankler. A Celebration of Dick's Life will be held Wednesday, July 20th, 1pm, in Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Portland, Oregon.
