I loved every moment of my friendship with Richard Whitehead. One year, at work, he was in charge of the fund raising efforts of the Agency (at that time public health). He asked for "volunteers" and I stepped up. I designed the Trivia Bowl for that year which raised funds for ten years thereafter. Richard "captained" a team called Byte Makes Right. They always lost the first round, probably on purpose. (laugh) Richard always made me feel comfortable and blessed with his tremendous smile. I will miss him and his yearly birthday greetings!

I worked with Richard at the state. It was with his encouragement that I joined the computer team. His stories about agate hunting were hilarious and always made me laugh out loud. He was always a kind and compassionate gentleman. He was a mentor and I will always remember him. This one is for you Rich. May you rest in peace.
