Robert Wallace Brown”Bob”, 88, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 26, 2013 in Tualatin, Ore. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, in Feb. 2008 after 59 years of marriage, and one brother, James Russell Brown. He is survived by his son, Robert Jr., previously of Longview, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Allen of Kent, WA and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by one brother, Bert Richard Brown, of Portland. He was born in Portland, attended Pacific Univ. and Oregon State Univ., where he earned his PhD in Mathematics. After working at Boeing for 8 years, and one year of teaching at OSU, Bob became the Mathematics Department Head at University of Alaska Fairbanks until he retired in 1983. After retirement, he moved into the family home in Tualatin. Bob was a WWII Navy Veteran who served in multiple operations in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Albert W. Grant (DD-649). A dedicated family man, he enjoyed participating in the family’s activities including Boy Scouts, ski school, square dancing, woodworking and traveling the United States pursuing genealogy with his wife. He enjoyed playing bridge and was particularly good at pinochle. Bob loved the Lord and served his church over the years in youth leadership, and more recently, as a greeter. Services will be held Monday, Dec 2 at 7pm in Lake Oswego at Lake Bible Church. Visitation will be at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Monday from 10am-5pm. Private interment will take place later at the Willamette National Cemetery.
