Bob Cressy Jr., known to many as Bob or Bobby, passed away on January 15, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on July 20, 1957, in Boise, Idaho, to Robert and Verla Cressy. Bob spent the first 14 years of his life in Boise before relocating to Portland.
Bob was a beloved husband to Debbie Cressy, and their love story began on September 27, 1980. They were married on January 24, 1987. Together, they were blessed with three girls Brandi Cressy, Crystal Tierney, and Cindy Cressy. Bob was also a father to Bobby Cressy lll and a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bob was known for his stubbornness, good sense of humor, and love for joking around. He was a strict father who always looked out for his girls. Honesty was a core value to Bob, and he had little tolerance for thieves or liars. Despite his tough exterior, he had a big heart and would give you his last dollar.
Music was a passion for Bob, particularly blues and rock & roll. He had a knack for installing speakers in cars and was often seen cruising around with his favorite tunes playing. Bob also had a soft spot for animals, especially birds, which earned him the nickname "Birdman" during his school years. His brothers affectionately called him "Bodang."
In his career, Bob worked in shipyards until an injury left him disabled. Despite this setback, he remained resilient and cherished his hobbies. He found joy in riding Harleys, working on muscle cars, and, of course, listening to music.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Ross Hollywood Chapel in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 1 pm. The compassionate staff at Ross Hollywood Chapel is assisting the family during this difficult time.
Bob Cressy Jr. will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory live on in our hearts.
