

Robert Ronald Kuepper, aged 92, of Portland, Oregon, passed away August 10, 2021 with family surrounding him. He was born in Irvington, New Jersey on September 14, 1928 to Elsie & Reinholdt Kuepper. He was married to Sally Lavelle Brown for 68 years before he was predeceased by her in 2003.
Bob joined the United States Air Force at aged 22. He flew a multitude of aircraft including the F-86, F-89, F-101, B-66 and would lastly the RF4C fighter jet. He flew over 100 combat missions during the Vietnam era. After retiring from the Air Force in 1971 he attended the University of Portland and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed a second career working for the Bonneville Power Administration.
After his retirement from Bonneville, he dedicated most of his time to serving alongside Sally in the church on worship team playing his saxophone, clarinet and marimba while mom accompanied on piano. They also hosted Bible Study in their home weekly.
After mom’s passing he took on the sole care of his daughter Karen until her passing in 2019. Seeing to her daily medical needs drew him closer to the Lord and Dad grew exponentially during the past several years. He would often say, “One day at a time – the Lord will see me through.” A verse he would often repeat was Romans 8:18, “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later.”
Dad is survived by sons, David (Deanna); Brian (Karen); and Danny (Cristie), Grandchildren, Hannah (Steve) Ferrell; Heather (Sean) Diamond; Matt (Hannah) Kuepper and Isabella Kuepper along with great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Sally, his wife; Karen, his daughter; and Hal Kuepper, his grandson.
A private family interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
