Robert Charles Stanton
October 22, 1928 – October 27, 2018
Robert Charles Stanton, age 90, of North Plains, Oregon passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Robert was born October 22, 1928, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin; the son of Charles and Luella Stanton. In the early years, he lived in Camas, then moved to St. Johns where he attended school in Portland. Robert was the second oldest of six brothers. He fell in love with Evelyn Mae Stanton (Wright), and they married October 19, 1952, in Washougal, Washington. Robert served in the Air Force and after returning home from Korea in 1955, they moved into the house he built while he was in high school, in Hillsboro Oregon.
Robert loved his family very much and was a very trusted hard-working man who earned everything he had. Robert was a natural craftsman and loved building, if it wasn't a house it was furniture for his wife and family. He built utility trailers, fixed anything needing to be fixed. His true passion was making carvings of animals and wood wall art. Robert and Evelyn loved camping and spending time at their beach house in Lincoln City where a lot of fun memories were made. He showed his boys how to fish, hunt and the appreciation of the outdoors. Robert worked for a gas company, a logging company, and Rodgers Organ company where he retired after 25 years.
Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn, son Greg, his parents, and three brothers. He is survived by his two brothers; Gary and Donny, two sons and their spouses; Jeff and Dana Stanton, Dave and Judi Stanton, six grandchildren; Jennifer, Jessica, Amy, Stephany, Kyle, and Kenneth.
