Ronald Blake Gleim

October 21, 1938April 22, 2021

Ron Gleim was born October 21, 1938 in Portland, Oregon. He attended Woodstock Elementary School and Franklin High. After serving in the U.S. Army, he returned to his previous employment at Dan & Louis Oyster Bar, where he made some lifelong friends. He later worked building fences, and enjoyed many years at Pacific Fence Co., where he was employed until his retirement.

He was an outdoorsman in every sense of the word. Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. He knew just about every bit of wilderness land in the state of Oregon. He was also a talented artist and especially enjoyed sketching Native Americans, seeming to capture their spirit in his drawings.

He was a great brother, uncle, and friend to many. We will miss him immensely.

Ron will be laid to rest with honors in private services at Willamette National Cemetery.

Ron and I were in Mr. Deurter's art class together at Franklin High school and have exchanged Christmas cards every year since 1958.

One year Ron came over to our home and carved the best pumpkins
for our two children's Halloween. He was a true artist, outdoorsman and a very kind person.
