

age 81, of Gladstone, Oregon passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Ronald was Born on January 25, 1943,in Dalton, Nebraska, to his parents, Fred and Viola Kriesel, Ron lived a life full of travel adventures, photography, compassion, and many family travels and gatherings.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne; his sister, Jane Kriesel Allen of Hartford, CT; his brother, Leon Kriesel and his wife, Cheryl Burkhart-Kriesel of Gurley, NE; and his sister-in-law, Marcia Childress, wife of his late brother Galen, who is now married to David Childress of Bakersfield, CA. He is also survived by his beloved daughters, Heidi Kriesel of Friday Harbor, WA, and Holli Gagliardi and her husband, Bill, of Stewartsville, NJ. Ron’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, William Gagliardi and Ella Gagliardi.
He is lovingly remembered by his nieces, Marielle Kriesel and Sachi Veiluva and her husband, Ed; and his nephew, Wes Kriesel and his wife, Darlene.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Viola Kriesel; his infant sister, Jean Clara; and his beloved brother, Galen Kriesel.
Ron was raised in Gurley Nebraska. . After high school, he attended the University of Nebraska, studying Agricultural Economics and received his Masters degree in 1968.
Ron continued to fancy his High school sweetheart, Jeanne.
On December 26th, 1965, Ron married Jeanne Miller, in Sidney, Nebraska . It was during this chapter of his life that his love for traveling throughout the United States with Jeanne, along with his love for 3D photography begin to flourish.
In the early 80’s, from Photography to 3D, to many photo competitions. He also became a Founding Member of the Cascade Stereoscopic Club, Portland, Oregon , in 1994.
He continued his love of being a Stereoscopic Photographer, as he helped the opening of the first 3D Photography museum in downtown Portland from 2001-2013.
Ron loved collecting cameras, and 3D memorabilia and taking photos that won many prestigious awards.
Together, they built a loving family, moving to Denver, Colorado. They continued to move across the country as he was transferred through work, to Kansas, Virginia, Wisconsin and finally settled in Oregon, in 1986. to a quaint little town called West Linn. moving to Gladstone, OR in 1991.
Ron worked as a Deputy State Statistician for 35 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1998 in Portland, Oregon.
He had a love for hiking and fishing with his grandkids, visiting museums, and enjoyed traveling with his family, especially his wife. He was an accomplished traveler to most of the United States.
But most importantly Ron loved his family. He spent many a hikes and long drives along with his hiking stick he made and whittled himself, along with his loving wife, Jeanne. Camera's in tow for the "perfect shot". He adored his two daughters Holli, and Heidi and was "over the moon" to be a Grandfather.
Ron had so much more to give, more to see, and more to share. He was full of heart and kindness and embodied a nature of always educating himself, and paying it forward to others in teaching them.
He attended the United Methodist Church of Lake Oswego and of Oak Grove throughout the years with his Wife and family. He was a devout Man of God. He served many years by teaching, providing acoustics for the music and the services, and teaching many topics for the Bible Studies he lead.
Though his journey in this world has ended, his spirit will continue in all the nature, he loved through his beautiful photography. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and “all of God's creatures, big and small.”
An intimate service took place on , January 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Royalton Place, in Milwaukie OR.
An Inurnment took place April 2, 2025 at noon, with his daughters and wife attending, where Ron was laid to rest.
A service with a gathering of family and friends for Ron’s “Celebration of Life” will take, Friday, May 30th at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary & Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR 97225.
Dinner will follow for an intimate gathering and will be announced as details become available.
