Rongchang Zhou passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the remarkable age of 100, surrounded by his family. Born on March 13, 1926, in Shanghai, China, he lived through a century of extraordinary change and built a life defined by perseverance, learning, hard work, and devotion to family.

He studied electronic instrumentation at Aurora University in Shanghai and went on to build a distinguished career as both an engineer and a technical translator. He contributed to translation work related to the Apollo Moon landing and several large-scale Japanese-sponsored industrial projects in China. Gifted in languages, he became fluent in several throughout his lifetime and remained a passionate learner well into his later years.

Family was always at the center of Rongchang's life. Despite the demands of his career, he devoted himself to his wife and children, sharing stories from classical Chinese literature , playing chess with his son, and offering unconditional love and encouragement. Driven by a desire to be closer to his grandchildren, he later moved to the United States, where he delighted in spending time with them, often spoiling them with toys and gifts that brought them great joy.

An avid reader and lover of books, poetry, movies, and plants, Rongchang found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was known for his warm sense of humor, optimistic spirit, and quiet strength. Even after overcoming cancer in his late eighties, he enjoyed many more years of an active and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends.

Those who knew Rongchang will remember his integrity, resilience, generosity, and deep love for family and friends. His greatest pride was not his professional accomplishments, but the family he cherished and the values he passed on to future generations.
