Rose was born in Schönwald Germany on June 9, 1937. On January 18, 1944, her family had to flee by wagon train due to war and the advancement of allied forces from the east. They had many stops along the way including Neudorf near Marienbad, Czechoslovakia, finally settling into Marktredwitz Germany on March 20, 1944, where she grew up. Later she met and married her first husband John L. Ball and moved to the United States in 1961. She was a housekeeper and homemaker raising two children, Hellen and Kenneth. In 1979, she lost her husband due to a helicopter accident. In 2002, she married a long time friend Richard W. Ritthaler who also had two children, William and Diane. They remained in Camas, WA until her death. She is survived by her husband, four children, eight wonderful grandchildren, six precious great-grandchildren and one sister. Her laughter was a source of joy to all who knew her. And now, shining down from heaven above, we see the sunshine in her smile.
