A spirited and adventurous soul, Rowena was known for her independence, laughter, deep faith, and exceptional culinary skills, often hosting delightful dinners for friends and family.
Rowena's educational journey began at Cloverdale High School in California, graduating in 1956, followed by her completion of Medical Transcription School in San Francisco in 1957. Her career as a medical transcriptionist spanned many years, with a significant pause to be with her sons during their high school years and several years beyond. Post-retirement, she, alongside her late husband Earl Nash, engaged in the community by participating in gun shows across the Pacific Northwest, where they relished making new friends and opening their home to those in need.
Her personal life was rich with relationships and love. Rowena first married Roy Tudor in 1958, with whom she had three sons, Gary Tudor (Danielle), Randy Tudor (Jenny), and Darrell Lane (Janice). She later married Ernest Lane in 1973 and then Earl Nash in 1993, with whom she shared her life until his passing. Her family grew to include grandchildren Christopher, Benjamin, Caleb, Ryan, Nathan, Erica, Timothy, and Zachary, and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Rowena's faith was an integral part of her life. She was actively involved in the Assembly of God churches, among others, throughout her life, reflecting the influence of her father, an Assembly of God pastor. This faith was expressed in her daily life through her commitment to prayer, her culinary generosity, and her lifelong mission to bring her family closer to God.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Rowena enjoyed hiking, skiing, fishing, and mushrooming—a hobby that became a family favorite.
She was also musically inclined, playing the piano, violin, and accordion. She enjoyed traveling globally, visiting places like the UK, Hawaii, France, and Germany. She also embarked on a medical mission trip to Africa with her second husband, Ernest. A lover of animals, Rowena cherished the companionship of her dogs and usually had one (or two!).
Rowena's legacy is one of love, faith, and adventure, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
