A loving personality, a true force of nature, and a deeply devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully departed on March 19. Ruth was born in Milwaukie, Oregon, the youngest of 12 children to Swiss parents who owned the Midway Dairy in Milwaukie. She graduated from Milwaukie High School where she met her sweetheart and future husband Clyde. Ruth worked for the State of Oregon and after her kids were in school, she touched the lives of many children as an Assistant Secretary at North Oak Grove Elementary for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Ruby; parents Henry Luchs and Mary Kiser Luchs; sisters: Anna Hofstetter, Marie Weisenfluh, Marguerite Gerber, Katherine Werner, Dolly Vukovich, Helen Werner; and brothers: Henry, Emil, John, and William Luchs. She is survived by her children Lynn Davis (Brian), Jeff (Tracy), Scott (Annette Paoli), and Leslie (Thomas Larson), nine grandchildren, her sister Nellie Hunt, extended family, and many friends. Ruth loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known by many in the school community through work as an advocate for staff, students, and their families; provided childcare for working parents during the early years of her own; and was an enthusiastic Trailblazers fan over the years. A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm, May 18th at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland
