Ruth J. Wood

On March 22, 1946, Ruth exchanged wedding vows with Melvin Wood in Vancouver, Washington. The couple had met while roller skating in Oaks Park.

Ruth and Melvin were blessed with six children, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Ruth was a Medical Aide in the field of health care for the majority of her working life.

During her life Ruth enjoyed many things. She especially loved to travel. Her and Melvin spent a great amount of time together on the road in their RV. She also enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, square dancing and making Afghans.

Ruth passed away on February 2, 2014 in Portland, Oregon. A funeral service and celebration of life will be at 10AM, Monday, February 10, 2014 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park. Public visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.

Ruth is survived by her two sisters, five sons, daughter and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She will be remembered fondly with love.
