

Sandra Lee West was born June 18, 1938 in Lincoln Nebraska. She was a retired Registered Nurse. She graduated from Stevenson (Washington) High School, 1956, Good Samaritan School of Nursing, 1959 and Linfield College in 1979. She worked at Physician and Surgeons Hospital in Portland and the Eugene Hospital and Clinic until 1981. She was a member of the Junior League of Eugene, one of Eugene’s Outstanding Women and a member of Daisy Ducks. She and her family returned to Portland in 1981 after living in Eugene for 20 years. She worked at the Children’s Clinic, Portland, until retiring in 2002.
She married Michael Stone in 1962 at St Mary’s Episcopal Church in Eugene.
She was a member of the emergency medical response team for Medical Teams International participating in 20 assignments serving internationally in the Far East, the Middle East, Africa and Central America from 1979 to 2008.
Survivors include Husband, Michael, 2 sons, Jeffrey (wife, Jennifer) and Craig (wife, Amy) and three Granddaughters, Andrea, Carolyn, and Chloe, Nephews John Pigott, Timothy Pigott, Douglas Pigott and Nieces Debra Johnson and Lynn Knudsen. Her son Roger preceded her in death in 2005.
