Satish Chandra

Satish Chandra was born in Koronubu, Ba, Fiji on July 15, 1950 to Shiu Datt and Subhag Mati. He is survived by his son, Sumeet of Amsterdam, Netherlands; his daughter Shantika and son-in-law Carl Green of Happy Valley, OR; his granddaughters Nyla and Jaya Green; 5 siblings, Chandra Prakash, Ramesh Chandra, Ami Chandra, Prema Wati Prasad, Pushpa Singh and many nieces, nephews and a vast extension of family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Shanta and siblings Shri Mati and Vidya Wati.

For much of his life Satish was an industrial machinist in Portland, OR. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to root for the Blazers and the Timbers. He enjoyed playing cards with family and was a very social person, constantly telling jokes. Though his favorite pastime for the past ten years was spending time with his granddaughters, Satish loved staying connected with his friends & family. He was always calling them – whether near or far – to check in and say hi. He cherished human connection. He especially loved to share Indian and Chinese food with his loved ones.

A funeral service for Satish will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225, followed by a witness cremation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
