Scheryl Ann McClain, 70, of Hillsboro, OR passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2018 in Portland. Scheryl was born on May 06, 1948 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the youngest of three children of Garnett and Helen Bailey. She was raised with 2 older brothers, Clair and Richard.
Scheryl graduated from Couer d'Alene High School in Idaho and worked in Business Management for several companies before her retirement . She married the love of her life, James McClain, 44 years ago and together they raised their family. Scheryl was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating, painting, playing cards with friends and in her early years, enjoyed dancing to country western music. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to family gatherings, whether large or small and to informal card games or just visiting with her friends over lunch or dinner. She also enjoyed traveling and she and Jim spent a number of winters at their vacation home in Palm Springs, as well as years on the lake in Coulee Washington, where they enjoyed boating and golfing. Her travels also involved returning to the familiarity of her hometown, Couer d'Alene and the Spokane area. In recent years, Scheryl was also an active member of the Parkinson's Support Group and had a very special bond with other friends and families promoting the same cause.
Scheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clair. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, K.C. Koss (Vicky and their daughter, Alicia LeVezu); Shawny Dooney (Brian and their son, Jack); step children, James McClain (daughters, Lauren and Amber); Tam Hubbard (Bruce, and their daughter, Jessica); brother, Richard Bailey and his wife, Sally and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Sheryl McClain was a warm and caring person with a welcoming demeanor and a strong Christian faith. She loved to laugh and enjoyed life. Her smile lit up the room and was contagious. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She lives on in their hearts forever. Scheryl will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and a celebration of life reception will be held at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary on Sunday, June 03, 2018 at 3:30pm.
