Sharon's absence will be keenly felt, but her bright spirit will continue to encourage us. I so admired her warm and abundant generosity to other writers. Her enthusiasm for A Room Of Her Own and other organizations devoted to helping writers find and use their voices is a model for all of us. Thank you, Sharon, and deep thanks and condolences to your family in your loss.

Cayote Willows proudly sits on my nightstand, a constant reminder of the hours our critique group spent at Panera reviewing each other's work. That is when Sharon entered my life. "Sharon, I don't read thrillers and I don't even know what an eco thriller is." Hence my education began. Sharon patiently read my nonfiction health articles, which were a far cry from her colorful characters and action packed adventures. She was particularly good at helping me with "grabber" sentences and picking up when I was conveying meanings I didn't intend. I loved those moments and Panera will always remind me of them.

Sharon was a talented writer who could make her characters and story come alive. It drove me crazy to critique a chapter and have to wait until the next meeting to find out what happened next. 

Sharon, I hope Cayote Willows is a wild success; you deserve it. It's a great story and if that is what an eco-thriller is, then maybe I do like them and I have you to thank for that. You touched my life, improved me as a writer, and I'm a better person for knowing you.

I will miss Sharon.My memories of her sense of humor, her friendship and joy of living are lodged in my heart. I am very fortunate to have known her. My sympathies to Wayne, John, Mary and their families

Sharon was a premiere member of our "polar bear club" at West Hills. I will remember her laughter as we splashed around in water aerobics sharing funny tales and confiding in sorrows. We were like kids at recess, and now she gets to play eternally. May Christ keep your dear family in His Name.

Sharon was tremendously dedicated, kind and inspiring.  We feel fortunate to have had her as a colleague.

Wayne we wanted to extend our deepest sympathies and let you know our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this time. It was our pleasure to have known Sharon.

Always in our hearts, never forgotten.  Sharon was the most beautiful, giving person.  We'll never forget her hospitality and friendship.

When the world seems gloomy, I will have the memory of Sharon, remember that people like her keep the world glowing.

Sharon was a much loved colleague and friend. She inspired me in many ways, even more so when she successfully got a novel published this year. She inspired me to begin writing again a few years ago. She leaves a legacy of loving her family and other people's children. I will miss her so much. My thoughts are with her loved ones at this time.

Sharon was a delight to work with. Her dedication to all students enriched the lives of many.

We will always remember Sharon as such a welcoming person.  She made us all feel at home, and was a wonderful hostess.  Our sympathies to Wayne and her children.

Sharon lives in my heart for her talent, her sense of humor, her fierce dedication to her family, and the special friendship we shared. My love to you, Wayne, John & Mary.

I loved, loved, loved Sharon!  She was smart, good looking, extremely funny, and a very dedicated, teacher, mother, wife, and friend. While of this earth she was so full of life it was contagious.  She was a tremendous advocate for all of her students, they knew it, and loved her very much for it!  The world was a much better place because of her.  I will miss her greatly and my thoughts and prayers are with the family in this very trying time.  Barbara Foley
