She was born on December 1, 1940, in Canby, Oregon, to Arthur and Margaret Anderson, and was raised in Barlow, Oregon.
Shirley pursued her education in nursing school and went on to dedicate her career to caring for others. She worked at Waverly Baby Home and Providence Hospital, and later retired from Emanuel Hospital, where her compassion and commitment left a lasting impact on those she served.
Shirley found joy in sewing and crocheting, creating with her hands and sharing those creations with others. She was known as a friendly and helpful person, someone who could be counted on and appreciated by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Jeff McLaughlin of Portland, Oregon; her brother, Wayne Anderson of Corvallis, Oregon; and her grandson, Justin Frew of Medford, Oregon.
Shirley will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and a life well lived in service to others.
