OBITUARY

Solomon Abraham Embaye

October 6, 1974August 31, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Solomon Abraham Embaye announce his sudden passing on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Solomon was born in Asmara, Eritrea on October 6, 1974 to Embaye Abraha and Haregu Paulos. He immigrated to the United States with his parents and siblings in 1981, and settled in Portland, Oregon where he attended Boise-Elliott Elementary School, Harriet Tubman Middle School, and Wilson High School.

Solomon was a quiet and calm soul who despite his own internal battles found no greater joy than to bring laugher and light into the lives of others. Being a father to his beautiful children, whom he loved deeply, brought him true happiness and was the biggest honor of his life. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his infectious smile, his warm heart, and his ability to see only the good in anyone he encountered.

Solomon was predeceased by his parents Embaye Abraha and Haregu Paulos. He is survived by his four children Imani Embaye-Davis, Solomon Embaye Jr., Simone Embaye, and Hailab Embaye; his siblings Manna Embaye, Yosef Embaye, Habtom Embaye, Frewoini Embaye, Medhanie Embaye, and Tsehai Embaye; also several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and dear family friends.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts ... Solomon, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather will forever be loved and cherished.

This is J.T. I'm Elizabeth's youngest brother. Before Liz and Sol had Imani you may have saw them with me. I used to go to his Highschool with him for his child development class. I used to ride wherever he would take me. I love Solomon like a big brother and like a dad. Closest I ever had to a dad or father figure. A lot of who I am came from Liz and Solomon. I'm more quiet and reserved, but joke and clown a lot. I know a whole lot of people and everybody likes me. I try to stay positive. Having my own four kids was easy because of the examples I had. I have been around the Embaye family for all my life and felt immediately like I was welcome. I love you all. I will miss my Big Brother forever. This is one of the hardest to deal with because he was something special to me. Remember his laughing and always wanting to joke and Smile big. J.T.
