Somphone Homsombath, born April 5, 1957, in Laos, passed from this world on December 26, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. His life was a testament to the enduring power of joy and the strength of a kind heart. Somphone was a man who found laughter to be a constant companion and who approached every day with a gentle, joking spirit that endeared him to all.
A diligent worker, Somphone balanced his commitments with a healthy appetite for life's adventures. He was a relaxed individual, never one to shy away from a challenge, and often found joy in the thrill of a dare. His independence and unique rhythm of life were the melodies that played in the background of the lives he touched.
Somphone's love for fishing and the great outdoors was matched only by his love for his family. He was a cherished presence in the lives of his son, John Homsombath; granddaughter, Alexis Homsombath; and grandson, JJ Homsombath, who survive him and will continue to honor his memory.
A memorial service to celebrate Somphone's life will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 10 AM at Ross Hollywood Chapel. In remembrance of Somphone, attendees are invited to reflect on the happiness and light he brought into the world, and to honor a life that was lived with laughter and love.
