Dear Karen, Emily, Rachel & Justin - I was surprised and saddened to hear of Steve's death.  I remember him fondly as a kind and gentle person who always included his little cousin in the happenings at family gatherings. I was very sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  I lived a block away from the Friedstrom family and went to Vernon Grade School and Jefferson with Steve.  He was in my drama class and we had great fun on various theater productions, especially "Arsenic and Old Lace."  Not only was he a gifted actor but he excelled at the technical aspects of theater production.  With his commanding stage voice and presence I always felt he had a Shakespearean quality.  Steve had such a sweet spirit and I never heard him say an unkind word.  Please accept my deepest condolences.

I was so sad to hear of Steve's passing.  One of our other Vernon Grade School classmates sent me a note that she'd seen his obituary.  We always hoped he would come to one of our Jefferson High School reunions - just had the 45th.  I will always remember Steve, especially in 8th grade when he was my boyfriend.  He took me to movies & church youth events.  I still have the locket he gave me for Christmas.  A very sweet guy and I know how hard this must be for his family and friends.

OMG!  I was just thinking of Steve this week as I was driving home from Portland.  I live in Astoria now.  I have looked for Karen & Steve on Facebook and never found them.  I so wanted to get in touch with you guys.  I remembered your children's names of Emily, Rachel, & Justin, and had planned to look them up on FB.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I so regret not getting in touch sooner.  I've always had wonderful memories of my dear friendship with Steve throughout our childhood & teen years.  He was my best friend ever and I'll always cherish our brother/sister love we had for each other.  I'm so sorry we didn't stay connected as we married & had children.
