Steve went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2013 due to declining health. He was born in Ashland, Oregon to Andrew and Virginia Ramey. He served in the US Navy during World War II on the destroyer USS Buchanan as a cook and a gunners mate. After the war he laid linoleum and carpet for many years. He then briefly worked as a warehouseman at terminal 4 on Swan Island, then he went to work for Directors Furniture selling carpet which eventually led him to become half owner of The Carpet Place. He is survived by his daughters Karen Helmer (Dale) of Oregon City, OR, Sheryl Morgan (Paul) of Beavercreek, OR, grandson Todd Morgan of Boring, OR, sisters Emma Fritsch (Jake) of Florence, OR, Betty Stewart (Bill) of Anchorage, AK, Thelma Pfankuch (Dale) of Helena, MT and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his loving wife Dorothy and grandson Ryan Morgan.
