Susan Kaye Kingrey

Susan Kay Erickson Kingrey was born in Portland Oregon April 16, 1945 and went to heaven on December 12, 2020.

She married the love of her life, Terry Kingrey in 1966. They had two daughters, Andrea and Dawn. She had four grandchildren, Tori, Jake, Bailey, and was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Ashley. She had two great grandchildren Jack and Thea.

Susan started her career in radio at KGW and continued working for multiple radio stations (KUFO, KUPL, KYTE to name a few) until she retired in 2007.

Everyone loved Susan, she was sincere, loving, caring and had a very special wit about her. She was kind and generous to everyone she knew. With love in her heart she would happily lend a hand (or ear) to anyone that needed it.

Susan loved going to the Oregon Coast. It was a family tradition to spend a week at the beach each summer. Every year she’d take all the kids down to play in the ocean and “jump the waves.” She loved the sound of the ocean and shopping in town, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Susan’s faith carried her through the difficult last six months of her life, but now she is free of the pain that she endured.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Erickson, father, George Erickson, husband, Terry Kingrey, and her sister Geri Graf.

The world lost a very special person who will be missed by many, but heaven gained an angel whose memory will remain in our hearts forever.

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust Susan. In this life you embraced her with your tender love; deliver her now from every evil and bid her eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome her into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, or weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
