Terri Jo passed away at home May 17, without pain or discomfort, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She lost a well fought two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Terri is survived by her beloved husband, Steve; her three sons, Cameron, Cole and Kevin; sister, Jill; brother, Dennis (Jane); brother-in-law, Jeff (Kathy); sister-in-law, Glenna; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Dolores Petersen; and her brother, Kim Petersen. Terri was born in Pendleton and spent her youth there, where she worked in her father's auto parts store. It was there that she developed her bookkeeping skills. She utilized these skills throughout her career at OHSU, Freightliner and Schommer and Son's Construction. Her co-workers at Schommer were like her second family. Terri was an avid reader - often reading multiple novels at the same time. Yet, family was Terri's first priority. She loved to plan and cook for large family gatherings. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. There will be a private family service at Willamette National Cemetery. This will be followed by a gathering for family and friends at the Nickoloff family home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 3 p.m. Bring a copy of your favorite photo of Terri to share. Special thanks to the Oncology Departments at OHSU and Providence Hospital. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society , in lieu of flowers.
