We first met Ted and Han when we joined the hiking group Redmond Oregon. 
Ted was a gentle giant. He took it upon himself to create a business size card with insurance information and other critical personal information that each person could carry with them hiking. This ID card had it all, so in the event you were injured while hiking the group had contact information that could be very important in the event it was a serious injury. He was a kind and thoughtful person.
My husband ran into to him and Han while hiking over the butte on several occasions. Han continues her walking and maintaining the path up to the top of the butte.

I "met" Ted years ago through a listserve.  I never met Ted in person and I never spoke with him.  He was a great resource for international income tax issues.  He helped me resolve a couple of issues I had for my taxpayers.  He was always willing to help other professionals resolve their international tax issues.  He will be missed by many people, especially those who only knew him virtually through the internet.

I will remember Ted and his family in my prayers.

I knew Ted only from email lists we were on together over the past 15 or 20 years.  He never failed to respond when I reached out with a question in his broad & deep expertise.  He was unfailingly kind and supportive.   In a few conversations, we commiserated about our histories in LA and Ohio and he shared his love of the outdoors surrounding his home in Oregon.  Also, he could be pithy.  I remember the first time I emailed him to find out what his "SGS" response to another's question on a list meant.  "Simple Google Search," he replied.  I've never used it but I still think it all the time!  He will be missed.  Condolences to his family.

I'm sorry to hear of Ted's passing.  While I never met him in person, I had a few calls with him where he provided guidance through difficult situations.  And it was Ted who reached out to me, sensing some stress and the need for someone to talk with.  He was truly a kind person, and generous with his time and expertise as a professional.   He will be missed.

Although I never met Ted personally I feel that I knew him through various Tax listserves in which we both participated. The first post from him that I can find is dated Jan 3, 2007, but I am sure that he and I first " met" on the old Kleinrock listserve several years before that. He was an expert on international taxes and was very generous sharing his knowledge with others. My condolences to his many friends and family. I know he will be sorely missed by all.

My condolence to Ted's family. 

I met Ted in an online group for CPAs and Attorneys.  I didn't realize that Ted was in his 70s.  His posts gave me a much younger impression.  My practice has fair amount international tax issues. I'm thankful for Ted's help over the years.  He will be missed by me and others in the group.

To Han, and to all the family-
We were given our first greeting in our cul-d-sac by our next door neighbors, Ted & Han. And through the years we’ve realized how lucky we are to have such kind people next to us. We will keep alive the memory of Ted’s endearing gentle manner, and look forward to the times ahead when we’ll enjoy time with our dear neighbor, Han. 
Our sincere wishes for peaceful healing go out to all Ted’s loved ones.

That smile of Ted’s! I saw it when he stopped his car to talk to me on his way to Portland. He and his beautiful wife Han were facing so many physical challenges. I am so sad for Han and family. I will miss seeing him out walking but hope I see Han out there soon!

I don't know Ted but from what I read of his accomplishments in International Taxation, I feel compelled to comfort the family for their loss.  The fact that he continued to share his hard to come by knowledge after all of those years is indeed a testament to how he gave to his profession.  As a fellow, CPA, I want to thank the family for honoring his hard work and dedication. He will be missed in the CPA community and his family.

Dear Kleinman Family,
We met Ted and Han on the Cline Butte trail many times and always enjoyed our conversations with Ted. Han can be credited with keeping the trail nearly rock free as she would pile rocks by the side of the trail as Ted and Bob would talk about world happenings.  We will miss seeing Ted on the trail and seeing his smiling face.

I only knew Ted through a group of virtual tax partners, CPAs and attorneys willing to help each other with difficult tax questions. Ted was a great resource and trusted advisor. He was so tech savvy that I had no idea he was over 70. Even though I didn't know him personally, I feel a great loss with his passing.

I never met Ted.  However, I did meet him professionally over the internet when he would answer questions posed by others.  I admired his ability to answer questions and remain calm as well. He will be missed.   Sometimes we do not know all the people we touch with our actions, and Ted touched us electronically.

My sincere condolences to the family.  I never met Ted in person but enjoyed working with him as a colleague who I got to know through the various entities we worked together with/for several years ago.  Very knowledgeable and helpful to someone who knew little in his area of expertise.

We first met Ted and Han while hiking in central Oregon. We were part of a hiking group that would meet ever Thursday for a different hike somewhere in Central Oregon. This particular day we hiked to the top of Black butte it was a perfect Central Oregon day. As we descended down the path, we climbed over a large tree root that covered the trail, I was ahead of Ted and turned to watch him as he climbed over the root, as I preceded to trip over an exposed root and went flying down the hill. Ted got to me pretty quick, and as I managed to get up, I felt the need to apologize for sounding a bit like a longshoreman. Ted laughed so hard.
Ted made emergency information cards for some of the hikers, we carry this with us while hiking. Ted will be missed by so many.
Han, you and your family are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

The Kleinman five kids and their three Somers cousins went through our childhoods closely together -- and maintained those connections throughout our lives.  Ted was a favorite cousin and will be sorely missed.  Our special love and prayers go out to Han, Chris and Elizabeth,  Lisa and Derek, Justin and Edie, and to Josh and Sabrina.
