

Theodore “Ted” Kleinman, a kind and endlessly curious soul, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 29, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Samuel and Lillian (Goldfarb) Kleinman, Ted grew up in Los Angeles, California.
Ted served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1966 and earned a B.S. from California State University, Northridge. In December 1969, he married the love of his life, Han Pun Chong in Seoul, South Korea. They travelled the world together and built a life focused on family in Oregon.
A Certified Public Accountant specializing in international taxation, Ted was respected for his meticulous work and dedication to clients. Known for his love of facts and data, he embraced new technologies and enjoyed connecting with people. He solved complex financial problems for others, knowing that it made their lives better.
Ted found joy in nature and hiking in Central Oregon. He was always generous in sharing ideas that would help, and he left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Han Pun; son Christopher Kleinman, daughter-in-law Elizabeth and granddaughter; daughter Lisa Kleinman and son-in-law Derek Walker; nephews Justin (Edie) Wolfe and Josh (Sabrina) Kleinman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Helaine Randerson (née Kleinman), Sandra Kleinman, Alan Kleinman, and Richard Kleinman.
Ted will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. His legacy of kindness, intellect, and curiosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.
