

Ted Howser passed away peacefully in the family home at the age of 92 on July 14, 2020.
Born November 29, 1927 in the Multnomah neighborhood of S.W. Portland, Ted attended local schools graduating from Lincoln High School. Ted then joined the U.S. Navy and became a pilot. After his service, Ted attended the University of Oregon earning his degree in Biology and Mathematics. After college and a brief career with the Portland Fire Bureau, Ted spent several years managing popular Portland restaurants The Jolly Joan and The Club Portland. After the restaurant business he managed the Ondine until 1976.
In 1972 Ted started doing miscellaneous steel jobs around Portland, and in 1975 decided to take his passion for fabrication to the next level, starting his own business (Howser Steel Fabrication) with his wife Bonnie Howser in 1975. Howser Steel is a local, family run business that continues to operate in Portland today.
He was a great man who did great things and will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his first wife June Michos and oldest son Theron R. Howser lll. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Bonnie Howser; three children, Mitchell Howser (from his first marriage), Robin (Howser) Levesque and Jesse Howser; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He will always be 'The Boss'.
