Una Irene Voorhees Himes was born in Three Rivers, California, on December 15, 1925, to her parents, Arthur Chester Voorhees and Nellie Golden Pyle Voorhees. She had two older brothers, Ralph and Lyle, and three younger half-siblings, Arthur Jr., Carol and Eileen. She married Donald Bryant Himes on February 11, 1945, and they had seven children: Donna Louise, Mark Douglas, Marcia Jean, Gordon Wayne, Karla Sue, Ronda Kathleen, and Donald Alan. Una died in Portland, Oregon, on August 18, 2014. She was preceded in death by her brother Lyle, and by her husband, Donald, in 1987. She is survived by her remaining siblings; her seven children; sons-in-law Bob Barlow, Dan Ferrall, and Barry Himes, daughters-in-law Janet Himes, Marylin Himes, and Debi Himes; ten grandchildren--Scott, Stephen, Kelsey, Kristen, David, Lindsay, Nathan, Megan, Ben and Nicole; 13 great-grandchildren; and many members of her extended family.
