Velma Mae Lindholm, known by all as “Pat” was born in Gordon, Nebraska to Harold K and Blanche F (Adams) Davis on December 18, 1927. Pat was sister to Ruth and Ken. After time spent in Idaho the family moved to Portland, Oregon when Pat was a teen. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945.
Pat was married to Dean E. Lindholm on September 4, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. This union produced three children: Dean E Lindholm Jr, Byron H Lindholm, and Catherine B Lindholm. Pat returned to the workforce in 1965 when Dean Jr left for college. First working in the school kitchens of Portland Public Schools which allowed her to be home when Byron and Cathy had school breaks. She was later offered and accepted a position in the School Administration Building and retired from the Tuition Department in 1995.
Pat enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing card games with her family until her health no longer permitted it. In earlier times Pat's favorite times were spent with her family. She could be found in the kitchen making family favorites with cinnamon rolls, rhubarb custard pie, pot roast, potato salad, and porcupine balls among them.
Pat is predeceased by her sister Ruth Hansen; brother Ken Davis; and husband Dean E. Lindholm, Sr.
Pat is survived by her three children: Dean E Lindholm Jr (Cheryl), Byron H Lindholm (Lory), and Catherine B Lindholm; four grandchildren: Shelley Lindholm, Erik Lindholm (Christine), Thomas Hayes (Angie), and Denise Chirgwin (Scott); and 10 great-grandchildren: Forest, Avery, William, Kyle, Ben, Will, Sydney, Eli, Lincoln, and George.
At Pat’s request there will be no funeral; her family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held in the spring.
Pat will be privately laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens of Portland, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, Oregon Humane Society, or a library of your choice.
