Virginia Elsie Green was born June 13, 1924 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. She spent most of her youth in the small town of Seney, Iowa where she and her two sisters attended elementary school in a two room school house. She graduated from LeMars High School and attended Westmar University in LeMars. While there, she was recruited by the FBI to work in Washington, D.C. until the end of WWII. After the war ended she transferred to the FBI office in Portland, OR.
She married John Wesley Ruttle in 1950 and together they raised six children and enjoyed 63 years of happy marriage before his death in 2013. She was active in her church and community, a life long learner, a faithful friend and a spectacular mother.
Virginia is survived by her children, Nancy Loos (Joe), Marilyn Dryden (Jack), Mark Ruttle (Lynne), Beverly Hafner (Dudley), Keith Ruttle (Kathy), and Janice Baurer (Greg), their children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Powellhurst Baptist Church in Portland on October 5, 2019 at 2pm.
