

Vivian Mae Lillemoen was born in Wendell, Minnesota, the youngest of six children, and grew up on a farm.
Vivian married Frederick R Schmidt on May 26, 1946. They raised four sons and lived in Vanport and Beaverton before moving to Portland where they spent most of their lives.
She worked in offices much of her life, retiring from International Harvester/Brattain International in 1985.
Vivian’s greatest interest was her family, hosting many holiday and birthday celebrations. She enjoyed playing card games, crocheting, reading novels and, in later years, annual trips to Branson, Missouri with family. She volunteered at Legacy Emanuel Hospital for thirty years.
Vivian was a longtime member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and participated in its Joy Circle, Singles Club and Knitwits.
She moved to Cherry Blossom Cottage in February, 2015 where she was well loved and cared for by residents and staff.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband Fred, son Bruce and grandson David. She is survived by sons Michael D of Indiana, Ronald A and Bradley C Schmidt of Portland, nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Vivian’s name to Resurrection Lutheran Church be made.
Arrangements by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland Oregon with Viewing on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 5-8pm. Funeral services will be at Resurrection Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11am. A private graveside service will be at Willamette National Cemetery afterwards.
