With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Wayne Frederick Johnson, a beloved father and devoted servant of the community, who passed away on June 25, 2025. Born on March 8, 1943, Wayne lived a life of service marked by kindness, resilience and an unwavering sense of duty.
Wayne is survived by his loving daughter, Joan Victoria Johnson.,and his loving sister Rita Tornblad . He tied the knot in 1970 and on June 2, 1984, he was blessed with the joy of becoming a father. His love for his family was immense, and his legacy will forever be remembered as a very loving husband and father, who had a beautiful bass singing voice.
Wayne dedicated his life to public service. He was a proud member of the FBI National Academy's 184th session. His commitment and dedication to his duty were evident in his 40 years as a Police Sergeant. Through his actions, Wayne epitomized what it meant to be kind, supportive, and devoted to helping others.
His personal life was as full and rich as his professional life. He was an ardent fan of basketball and football. Wayne found relaxation in walking and reading a good history book. Music was a passion, with The Seekers' 'I Will Never Find Another You' being a favorite tune. He also enjoyed watching TV shows, with 'Mr. Ed' being a standout favorite. His love for cinema was profound, with 'Titanic' being one of his most liked movies.
Wayne's accomplishments were numerous and noteworthy. He was a proud graduate of Beaverton High School, class of 1961, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Business from Concordia College. His time in the Navy from 1961 until 1964, onboard the US Midway, was a source of great pride, as was his graduation from the FBI Academy's 184th session in Quantico, Virginia. He married the wife of his dreams October 1970 and is preceded in death with his wife Joanne Beverly Johnson who went to heaven February 16th 2010 and his loving mother Marie Leona Wiley on December 2011.
More than his accomplishments, it was Wayne's personality and character that endeared him to all. He was a beacon of kindness and support, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was respected by his peers and loved by his family. His voice, both literally and figuratively, will be deeply missed.
We bid farewell to Wayne, remembering his penchant for service, his love for his family, and his dedication to the community. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
