Wesley's life is a loss that takes another loved one from the days we always enjoyed with family, and the many get-togethers, from the 'good old days'.  He was the best gardener and his apple cider was 'to die for'.  We will miss him.   Doug and Betty Croft

Dear Aunt Dolla, Anna, Nancy, and Calvin,
I so wish our lives would have been a little different so I could have spent more time with my Uncle Wesley.  He and I had so much in common.  Our love of gardening and growing things could have made for many conversations and times of sharing.  He would have loved to go fishing with my husband Barry and playing cribbage too.  I regret that only got to happen once in my lifetime and that I only got to share in his garden once as well.  I know that now he is in a place where he can see my garden any time and I can talk to him always - he is in my thoughts whenever I work in my orchard.  I remember when he wrote to me and told me he was sending me a 'cabin'.  I was so unsure of what was going to arrive.  How blessed am I that the little 'cabin' in the photo arrived at my doorstep.  Made with love, by his own hands.  I will cherish it forever. I also know that he is now in a place where the grass is always green, the flowers always blooming and the apple trees forever filled with fruit.

Writing a tribute to Wes is a pleasure and honor.  

The years that Wes and Dolla lived next door to Uncle Willard and Aunt Ethel (my parents) were the times he revealed his true self.  My siblings and I knew our folks were in good hands with Wes and Dolla living nearby to keep an eye on them.    

Wes was a good hard working man.  His generosity, kindness and sense of humor were special gifts he shared with others.   Gardening was his passion and he eagerly shared the fruits of that hobby with everyone.  One could not leave his home without receiving some of the bounty from his garden.  In early spring it would be plants from his green house or garden.  In summer and autumn there would be veggies and fruit.  He loved to take veggies to church to share with parishioners.  In the winter he would eagerly give a gallon of apple cider that was pressed in the autumn.      
 
Wes always enjoyed telling stories from the past, but was willing to hear our stories too.  He also loved to play cribbage.  

God has blessed us with memory banks so we can recall the gifts Wes so freely gave.    

Thank you, God, for giving us the gift of Wes.

Dearest Uncle  Wes, I so remember your garden and the joy it gave you to grow and share the bounty of your harvest. I had two daisy plants my parents brought me from when Aunt Aloha moved from her house. I just learned they were from you! Sadly, they died from the winter weather. But I enjoyed them and now it blesses me to know they came from you! 
I always treasured how you looked after Grandpa after Grandma dies and before he was moved to a retirement home. It meant so much to me that you were there. You were there for him, but you also blessed me in the process. 
May you rest in peace. We love you.
