

Bill was born in Tacoma, Washington to James Bounds and Emma Ellis. He passed away in Hillsboro, Oregon at Kaiser Westside Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family when he passed. Bill was a long time owner of Bill Bounds Service and Repair in Aloha, Oregon.
Bill graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland in 1959. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard for four years and was honorably discharged. In true Bill Bounds style, when his time in the Coast Guard was up his ship was stationed in Japan. He said, "Let me off here!" and decided to live in Japan for awhile. When he got bored of living there, he moved to Hawaii and then back to Oregon
On July 8, 1966 he married Patricia Kay Hutton in Portland. Bill and Pat lived in Portland for five years, and then moved with their children Jeff and Traci to Beaverton. Besides owning the repair shop, he started working with band "Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts" then became the road manager for the band "The Kingsmen".
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia; son Jeffrey Bounds; daughterTraci Bounds, grandson Brody Lewis of Bellingham, Washington; and his sister Sharon Rundell. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland on October 30, 2014 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, for those that wish, donations may be made in Bethany Hartung's name to support Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer program at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
