In loving memory of William “Bill” Raymond Carroll, who passed away Oct. 8, 2013 at age 87. Bill was born in Everett, WA on February 7, 1926 to Raymond William and Loretta Maud Minnick-Carroll, the second of three sons. He spent most of his youth growing up in Lester and Seattle, WA. Bill graduated from O’Dea Prep School in Seattle where he received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy from Sen. Magnuson. He did not accept the appointment but chose to join the U.S. Army Air Corp, where he served two years as a flight engineer. On June 30, 1956 he married the love his life, Mary Alice Roach, In Portland, OR. Bill was employed by Nabisco in the supervision and management division for 44 years, retiring in 1957. The following 20 years he played golf with “Golden Oldies” at the Glendover Golf Course. Bill was a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Gateway Elks, and a coffee club with friends. Bill is survived by his wife Mary Alice, nephew John J. (Karol) Carrol in San Clemente, CA, nieces Marguerite “Maggie” (Jim) Landowski in Fremont, CA, Christine “Chris” (Wayne) Sakakuchi in San Jose, CA, Patricia “Patti” (Adam) Rutkin in Viego, CA, and a very special grandniece, Lailie Marie Simon, in Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John “Jack” and Robert. Bill was a special person to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
