

Rutledge, William 'Dude' T. 91 Feb. 13, 1924 Sept. 15, 2015 William "Dude" T. Rutledge, 91, of Milwaukie, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at home from heart failure. Dude was born Feb. 13, 1924, to proud parents, W.L and Lura Rutledge in Poteet, Texas. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was discharged in 1946. He worked as a diesel mechanic for 35 years at Consolidated Freight before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed gardening and was very proud of his hydrangea plants. He danced every Monday at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge, where he was an active member, loved bowling and traveling with his wife, Shirley. He also belonged to Clackamas United Church of Christ. Dude was preceded in death by his first wife, Coralee "Corky"; daughter, Doris Henley; and stepdaughter, Judy Hooper. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Ronald (Arita) Rutledge; granddaughter, Tami Roler; stepsons, Jerry (Cindy) Hooper and Jack (Juli) Hooper; and step- grandchildren, Jason Hooper, Sarah (Mike) Smith and Tracy Hooper. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Clackamas United Church of Christ in Milwaukie. Rev. Denise Anderson will be officiating.
