

Bill was born on September 27, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio.
At the age of 2 the family moved to Portland, OR., where he and his four siblings were raised by his parents, James Jackson and Dorothy Emaline (Bailard) Noles.
He attended Assumption Catholic School and Central Catholic High School in Portland. He met his wife, Josephine (Jo) Bethell in 1955 and they were married on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1956 at the age of 19.
They raised their four children on the west coast. Bill and Jo enjoyed traveling throughout the US, and Canada, with a trip to China and Costa Rica. He had many jobs, his most recent being a real estate broker and until 2017, he and Jo, together owned an adult foster care home.
Bill enjoyed his family, and in recent years took pleasure in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always supported his children and grandchildren’s dreams and endeavors. He had many interests, including writing, drafting, boat building, and vintage cars. An active member of their church, and a member of the American Street Masters Car Club. He loved the Lord, the beach and the mountains. Bill was most known for his great sense of humor, and could be seen cruising around Albany with Jo in his 1956 Thunderbird, he named Josie’s Ride.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jo and sons, Bill Jr. (Diann), of Tucson, AZ, Mikel (Mari) of St. Paul, MN, daughters, Bonnie (Paul) Mosbrucker, of Underwood, WA, Theresa (Jim) Crough, of Canby, OR, foster son, Dan (Rose)Torsen of Camas, WA, sister, Janet Carney of Aurora, OR, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
