William Earl Rutherford, age 89, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018. William was born January 22, 1929, in Raymond Washington. William spent the greater part of his life in the Pacific Northwest. As a young man, he spent five years in the Navy and has always been proud of his service. He met the love of his life Revadell (Snelson) and raised two beautiful daughters. Hunting and being outdoors was his delight, and he passed this passion on to everyone that knew him. He was even a lifetime member of the NRA and was as patriotic as they come. William is probably best remembered for always working on cars. He worked in a warehouse to make ends meet, but apart from that he spent his time working on cars, lawn mowers, and bicycles.
William’s legacy is his most precious possession, his family. William has three siblings; Mildred Nevitt, Raymond, WA, Judy Bloom, Bothell, WA, and Gerald Rutherford in Alamo, TX. Two daughters; Jacquelyn Secreto, Portland, OR, and Linda Riedel in Wichita, KS, and son Ernest Rutherford who predeceased him. Four grandchildren; Stephanie Smith, Brian Riedel, Zach Secreto, and Emily Secreto. Three beautiful, great-grandchildren; Luke & Lauren Schroeder and Hudson Smith.
A graveside service with military funeral honors for William will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229.
