Willie Joe Gray Jr. was born January 14, 1951, in Montgomery, Alabama as the oldest son to Willie James Gray Sr. and Hattie Mae Gray. Joe (as family and friends call him) received his education from Job Corps. Joe became a custodian for Courtesy Janitorial Service then moved on to Texaco as a gas attendant. From there he worked for Doc Martin Inc. and also for Columbia Sportswear Company.
Joe had an awesome passion for CARS!!!
He felt like the streets would cave in and disappear if he wasn’t out there driving …surely a problem! And the tank had to be on full – yours too cause he gon ask you!
Joe was also passionate about family. He was a loving father to his children and always asked them… “How much gas ya got? Did you check the oil? Is it washed?” no matter what, he always did his best by his children.
Joe married the love of his life Rachel Stout Gray on April 1, 2017. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gray, his son Dealando Gray, his sister Beverly Gray, his son Anthony James Gray Sr. and his stepdaughter Merri Byrd.
Joe leaves to mourn, his children; Rory, Jaman, Joeronte, Gerry, Dontae, Isaiah, Earl, Cherie (Shayla), Niclole, Ebony, Tanasha. His wife Rachel, his siblings Marita, Connie and a host of nieces, nephews, grands, and great-grands.
