

Yu Yue Lun peacefully passed away on July 5, 2012. He was a quiet and reserved man who had a deep love and appreciation for his family. Yue Lun was born in Kai Ping, China and lived there until the age of 16. He then moved to Hong Kong and lived there a short time before beginning his studies at college. Yue Lun studied engineering at Oxford University in England, University of British Columbia in Canada and he completed his education with a Master’s Degree of Structural Engineering from North Carolina State University. Yue Lun met his wife in Portland, Oregon and they were married on September 15, 1973. They had two children and settled with their family in Portland. Yue Lun worked as a civil engineer throughout his life and specialized in bridge structures. He worked for the City of Portland, Multnomah County and after her retired he worked on some special projects for Washington State. Yue Lun is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah K.Yu, his two children; Wayne and Sylvia and four grandchildren. Yue Lun loved his family and especially his grandchildren immensely. He desperately wanted to see the arrival of his fifth grandchild. He bravely fought a long battle with cancer and even after diagnosis tried to live his life day by day and to the fullest. Yue Lun will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
