Mr. Alan R. Clark

Mr. Alan R. Clark, 66, of Potsdam, NY, passed away at the Canton Potsdam Hospital on December 31, 2016. Arrangements are under the direction of the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, NY. Alan is survived by his sister Katy Clark, an aunt and an uncle, Merrill and Elaine Brainard and a cousin, Melanie Armstrong. He was born in Potsdam, NY on November 13, 1950 to the late Frank Clark and Ida Brainard. Alan was a graduate of Ramapo Senior High School and he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education as well as his Master’s Degree in Library Science. He worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL from 1976-1991 and then was a librarian in Orlando until 1998. From there Alan moved to Jacksonville, FL and was a librarian for the Jacksonville Public Library until his retirement in 2012. He returned to the North Country a year ago to be closer to his family. His greatest hobby was the genealogy and family history of the Clark, Cole and Brainard families.
