Basil was in our thoughts and prayers a lot as you gathered to honour him last Saturday. Our health issues prevented us from attending but we sure wish that we could have been there with you. We will never forget what a fine person Basil was and what a great family he and Norma raised.
Sincerely, Del and Sandy

Papa. My one and only...
Words cannot express all the memories we shared but one of my favorites is from November 26 2013 in Potsdam. Both you and Gram were there. We were celebrating mine and Keegan’s wedding, in the same church that my mom and Dad got married. I asked if you would walk me down the isle the night before and you look at me and said “I think I could do that”. Followed with a smile. As I took your arm in gown and all, you clasped my hand, you looked at me and tenderly said “ not many men have the privlage of walking their daughter and granddaughter down the isle in the same lifetime”. ❤️❤️❤️ My eye welled with tears and my heart was so full. Thank you papa. For that moment and all the rest. I will forever carry them with me always. Until we meet again, take good care of Gram as I know you will xoxoxo

I had the privilege of meeting Basil two summers ago and he left a last memory with me. Bonnie and myself were working in the Potsdam area and we stopped by his beautiful home and as soon as I walked in, I felt the warm environment all around me. I will never forget the smile Basil had as we both found pleasure in picking on Bonnie :). That is an image that will stay with me for the rest of my life, the smile as he sat in his chair looking out at the beautiful view and backyard in that lovely country. May Basil find peace now as he is in that surrounding with his wife of many years in heaven.

My sincere condolences to Bonnie and the extended family and for all who were fortunate enough to know this great man.
